The male dancers were spectacular with their classical Chinese dance performance at The London Coliseum. Cao Yongxin was fortunate to have danced in practicum with the Shen Yun Performing Arts. Truly, the male dancers of Shen Yun are exceptional. Their performances exhibit power and energy that are at the same time moving and graceful.
Mr. Yongxin gave details on what it takes to become an outstanding male dancer. He practices at least 4 to 5 hours per day to perfect his moves. “On top of that, if there are other techniques I feel unsure about, I might add an hour or two of my spare time,” he said. Every year, if a piece requires tumbling techniques, then he is usually assigned to them.
He also mentions the depiction of “yang gang” in male dance aside from exuding self-discipline during arduous trainings.
