Edgar Degas is a painter of journalist of ballets. During his time in the 1870’s his work was considered to be highly experimental. His paintings are monotone, meaning that they only feature a single color. Degas’s works showcase a move away from traditionalism, and boldly show the possibilities of engaging in abstraction.
