From Ceramics to Crickets: The Music of the Getty

It’s incredible the range and power that music has. From the creations of man to the notes produced by nature, everything has the power to make a song.

The Getty Villa in Los Angeles is one of the most beautiful places southern California, and during their annual summer series, they’ve been inviting artists and muses to make something amazing. This week sees the arrival of a number of great musicians.

Among them? A site-wide performance by Michael Parker & Wesley Hicks with their ceramic instruments. And they’re being followed by Chris Kallmyser, and his legion of a thousand crickets in the Central Garden.

Yes. A thousand crickets will produce a wonderful melody for the visitors of the show, as you can explore the ancient art of the Getty Villa. The night will also see a range of dance exhibitions presented to the guests by Kiani del Valle, and eventually a film program created by Veggie Cloud.
