There’s something beautiful you can find in pain. When we’re tucked away by common society. Rafa Esparza – in the process of using plaster to simulate that separation – explores all that. As a result, it’s truly something good.

Rafa is performing the piece as part of his installation, Made in L.A. 2016. It look into the secrets and souls of others. In their own words, the piece “narrates the conditions of invisibility through the processes of masking and molding.”

Rafa explores the ideas behind identity, both for queer communities and Hispanic ones. Local speakers are even coming to share their experiences.
